Tend is a calm routine tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. Short version: Tend has no account and no servers of its own, so we never collect, store, or see your data. Your routines live on your device, and (for Tend Plus users) sync through your own private iCloud.
None. Tend has no account system, no login, and includes no analytics or third-party tracking software. Tend has no server of its own, and makes no network connections to us. (Tend Plus's optional iCloud sync moves data only between your own devices and your private iCloud through Apple, never to us. See "iCloud sync" below.) We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.
Everything you do in Tend is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else:
Tend offers a one-time in-app purchase, Tend Plus, that unlocks additional features. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; Tend never sees or stores your payment details. Whether you own the unlock is determined on your device through Apple's StoreKit, and that information is not transmitted to us.
If you unlock Tend Plus, your routines, check-ins, sub-steps, and reminders sync across your devices using your own private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud database, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms. Tend has no server and no access to this data. We cannot see, collect, or share it; it moves only between your devices and your iCloud. Free users' data stays on-device and is not synced. You can turn syncing off at any time by disabling iCloud for Tend in the iOS Settings app, and deleting the app removes its local data from that device.
If you turn on Sync to Calendar (a Tend Plus feature, off by default), Tend adds your routine reminders to a dedicated "Tend" calendar it creates on your device. Tend only ever creates, updates, and removes its own events in that calendar. It never reads, changes, or transmits your other calendars or events, and none of this data goes to us. Those events sync through your own iCloud like the rest of your calendar. You can turn this off in Tend's settings, or revoke calendar access entirely in the iOS Settings app.
If you allow notifications, Tend uses them only to send the gentle reminders you set up, and a single "focus complete" heads-up after a focus session. Notification content is generated on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Nudge is an optional assistant that helps you turn feeling stuck into one small next step. When you type a message to Nudge, it is processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your messages and Nudge's replies are never sent to us, to Apple, or to any server; nothing you type is stored off your device or used to train any model.
Tend is designed for adults with ADHD, so the routines you track may reflect personal or health-related habits. Tend does not use Apple HealthKit and does not read or write any data to the Health app. Anything you enter stays on your device, under your control, and is never transmitted to us.
You can delete any routine inside the app at any time. Deleting the app from your device removes all of its stored data, including your routines, check-ins, and history.
Tend is a general-purpose routine tracker and is not directed to children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
